Myths, Legends & Landscapes

Tales from the Far North

A tapestry of myths, legends, poetry, history and travelogue from Northern Europe, where I have extensively travelled, journeying by kayak, bicycle, dog sledding, on foot – at a pace that allows connection with the land.

I have designed performances for the Jorvik Viking Festival Fringe in York and can offer evenings based around the main stories of Norse and Finnish mythologies; with a focus on smithing, magic and metalwork; or with a focus on journeys across the North Sea and further West.

I am currently working on star lore from the people of the North, which ties in with my interest in astronomy.

Celtic Lore (work in progress)

Perhaps the other landscapes I have most travelled through are the British Isles, and in particular Scotland and Wales where I now live. An ongoing current project is to explore the mythology of the Welsh countryside as I walk it.
